Fain Anderson VanDerhoef Rosendahl O'Halloran Spillane PLLC (FAVROS|LAW), a leading Puget Sound litigation firm with offices in Seattle and Tacoma, is seeking a strong litigation paralegal in our Seattle office. Ideal candidates will possess recent experience with full cycle management of civil litigation cases, from inception through settlement or trial. Medical malpractice experience is a plus. NOTE: This position requires you to work on site in the Seattle office at least 2 days per week, more if necessary based on business need.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare chronologies of medical records;
- Communicate directly with clients, attorneys, court personnel, experts and other legal professionals;
- Prepare authorizations and stipulations for record retrieval;
- Draft correspondence, memorandum, discovery, pleadings and other documents;
- Manage deadlines to ensure efficient case development;
- Prioritize, review, organize and summarize a high volume of medical records;
- Conduct medical, jury verdict and expert witness research;
- Manage the discovery process;
- Provide case status updates to the team on a regular basis;
- Assist with trial preparation and deposition prep as needed.
You are a strong candidate if you possess these qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience as a paralegal, ideally with medical malpractice matters;
- Knowledge of Washington state local and state court rules;
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of the discovery process;
- Experience with trial preparation (preferred);
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well as a team or individually;
- Proficient in MS Office, including PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines preferred;
- Experience billing time;
- Excellent attention to detail and superior ability to prioritize!
We offer a highly competitive base salary ranging from $72,000-83,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. We provide a comprehensive benefits package including potential for annual bonus, health and dental benefits, parking or commuter benefits, paid time off, and 11 paid holidays per year. Furthermore, employees are eligible for our 401(k) plan with a firm contribution of 7% of salary after one year of employment.
